Mangalore Ranga Pai

Mangalore Ranga Pai (7 May 1931 – 3 July 2003), or M. R. Pai, was born in Manjeshwar, Kerala, a small village on the Karnataka-Kerala Border. He studied at Canara High School, Mangalore and later at Presidency College, Madras where he obtained an MA in Political Science at the top of his class and received the Candeth Gold Medal from Madras University.
==Degree in Journalism==
After his studies he went to Bombay where he worked as an assistant editor with the ''Times of India''. Two years later he went to the United States, where he obtained a Master's Degree in Journalism from the University of California, Los Angeles. During his stay in the US he had the opportunity of editing a newspaper at the ''Carlsbad Journal'' in a small town Carlsbad, California.
